TikTok Reveals Global User Statistics For The First Time
For the first time in its existence, the management of ByteDance, a service for creating and viewing short videos, TikTok, has published global statistics revealing the number of users around the world, their activity, and audience growth in less than two years.
Compared to January 2018, the monthly active audience of American users grew by 800%. At the same time, the number of Americans who constantly use the application is more than 100 million; 50 million people open TikTok daily.
A similar increase is observed around the world. In 2018, TikTok's total audience was 55 million. By the end of 2018, that number was already 271 million users, and by August 2020, the app had been downloaded more than two billion times. According to TikTok analysts' estimates, the service's active audience has grown to 700 million people as of July 2020.
The decision to disclose data on the active audience and share global statistics on TikTok was made after pressure from the United States, as well as against the background of the launch of a competitor from the social network Facebook.
