GMC announced an electric version of the legendary Hummer
At the beginning of the year, the American automaker GMC announced the revival of the iconic line of Hummer SUVs, but the presentation scheduled for May was disrupted due to the coronavirus pandemic. Finally, the company confirmed the release of two models of the updated series at once, showed the design of their body and announced the dates of their release on sale.
According to the developers, the Hummer EV pickup with 1000 horsepower, will be able to accelerate from 0 to 96 kilometers per hour in just three seconds. The car will get a removable roof and two modes of transmission operation: Adrenaline and Crab, presumably intended for driving on the highway and rough terrain, respectively.
The second version of the SUV will also get a "pickup" body type, but with a closed cargo area. Thus, both versions of the electric car use the same base, but they differ in functionality and are designed for drivers with different preferences.
The official event dedicated to the Hummer EV line will take place this year, and the pickup is scheduled for release in the fall of 2021. The release date of the closed SUV model has not yet been announced. The price of new products will be announced by the manufacturer later.
