Hyundai announced the premiere of a new coupe crossover
New electric coupe-crossover Hyundai Ioniq 5 will be presented at the beginning of next year.
Hyundai has released a short video announcing the premiere of the new electric coupe-crossover Ioniq 5. The car will debut early next year.
At the same time, the future car itself is not shown in the video. The video shows only stripes with numbers that show the battery level of the future electric car, as well as three dots symbolizing the charging connector
The car will be built on a new platform for electric cars called E-GMP. It is expected that the size of the car will be comparable to the Santa Fe model. The Ioniq 5 will be 4635 mm long, 1890 mm wide, and 1605 mm high. The design of the model will be reminiscent of the 45 EV concept crossover that debuted at last year's Frankfurt Motor Show.
The cross-coupe will be available in two main versions: with 58 and 73 kWh batteries, which will allow you to drive 354 and 340 km without recharging, respectively. It will be possible to replenish the battery supply using a special fast system that will recharge the batteries by 80% in 15 minutes. A full charge should not take more than 40 minutes.
Subsequently, Hyundai's electric lineup will be replenished with the Ioniq 6 sedan and the Ioniq 7 large crossover. In total, the Hyundai Motor Group plans to bring 23 new electric cars to the market by 2025. Most of them will be built on the E-GMP platform.
