The car will get a massive radiator grille, long T-shaped LED headlights, and thin strips of turn signals and running lights under them. Mitsubishi has taken a similar approach with the Eclipse Cross and the new Outlander Sport.
As reported by CarAdvice, the SUV will share the CMF-C/D platform with the new Nissan X-Trail. At the same time, the Nissan crossover has a wheelbase of 2,705 mm, which is 35.5 mm longer than the current Outlander. Five- and seven-seat vehicle configurations will be available to customers.
It is expected that the new car will be equipped with a 2.5-liter gasoline engine with four cylinders. The power of the unit will be 183 horsepower. In addition, the current 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine for the PHEV hybrid version will give way to the 2.4-liter 126 HP engine that was introduced in the Geneva concept. The engine is combined with high-performance engines on both axles, which produce 93 HP and are powered by a large lithium-ion battery in the bottom of the car.
