According to Seiji Watanabe, General Manager of the Design Division of the Japanese company, the new Outlander will be "the first model to represent the next generation of Mitsubishi design." It is expected that the exterior of the car will resemble the Engelberg Tourer concept, which was presented in March 2019.
As for the technical characteristics of the new SUV, they are still kept secret. According to preliminary data, the car will be built on the CMF-C/D platform, which is also used by Nissan X-Trail. Five- and seven-seat vehicle configurations will be available to customers.
The next-generation Outlander will include a 2.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine. The power of the unit will be 183 horsepower. Also in Europe, new hybrid versions of the SUV are expected.
