Nissan has released a teaser for the updated Kicks compact crossover for the North American market. The car will premiere next week, December 8, 2020.

The American Nissan Kicks is expected to resemble the updated version for Japan, which debuted six months earlier. The crossover will receive an enlarged V-motion grille with a new pattern, narrowed headlights, and different air intakes.

According to preliminary data, the Nissan Kicks will be available with the e-Power hybrid power unit, where the 1.2-liter gasoline turbo engine acts as a generator to recharge batteries on the go, while the traction is transmitted to the wheels by a 129-horsepower electric unit. It is possible that the line will retain the current 1.6-liter atmospheric engine with a capacity of 124 horsepower.

Plus, in some markets, Kicks are offered with a new 1.33-liter turbo engine jointly developed with Daimler, which is known in Russia for Renault Arkana and Kaptur crossovers, as well as for "junior" front-wheel-drive Mercedes-Benz models. For example, on the updated Nissan Kicks for India, this unit produces 156 HP and 254 Nm of torque. The engine works with a six-speed manual transmission or with a CVT.

On December 8, Nissan will also present an updated large Armada SUV, which is presumably designed in the style of the new Nissan Patrol, introduced last year. In the interior of the car, like the Infiniti QX80, there will be two central touch displays, one of which will be responsible for multimedia, and the second-for managing the main functions of the car.
