Peugeot 5008 crossover became a police car in France
The French government has ordered a batch of special vehicles for police and gendarmes from Peugeot.
Peugeot introduced police modifications of the 5008 crossover, which were developed at the request of the French Ministry of the Interior. In total, the enterprises in Sochaux and Rennes will produce about 1.3 thousand official cars under the state order.
Police crossovers have a grey body color called Artense Grey, while cars for gendarmes are distinguished by blue shades of Sulawesi Blue and Bullseye Blue. In addition, the cars received special liveries of their departments.
Patrol Peugeot 5008 equipped with the necessary equipment for the service, including flashing lights on the roof and in the radiator grille, a siren, a loudspeaker and a radio station.
French law enforcement officers ordered cars with only one type of power unit — with a 1.2-liter three-cylinder PureTech gasoline turbo engine with a capacity of 130 horsepower.
In early September, Peugeot introduced the updated 5008 crossover, which received a number of changes in the exterior and interior, as well as got modern options, including a night vision system, adaptive cruise control and navigation with voice control. The engine range of the model includes petrol units with a working volume of 1.2 and 1.6 liters with a capacity of 130 and 180 forces, respectively, as well as 1.5 - and 2.0-liter diesels, the return of which is the same 130 and 180 forces.
