Nissan spoke about the new generation Qashqai crossover
The third-generation Nissan Qashqai crossover will be built on a new platform and equipped with a hybrid power unit.
Nissan has released a series of road test photos of the third-generation Qashqai crossover, as well as the first details about the car. According to the press service of the Japanese brand, European sales of the car will begin next spring. The assembly of the model will be set up at a plant in the British city of Sunderland.
The third-generation Qashqai will be built on the new CMF-C platform. The crossover will be 60 kg lighter than its predecessor. In this case, the rigidity of the body will increase by 41%. Also, the new product will slightly grow in size. In line with current trends, the number of analog buttons and switches in the cabin will be kept to a minimum.
In official pictures, the vehicle is hidden under camouflage. However, we can already say that the car will receive a traditional V-shaped radiator grille, headlights in the style of the recently introduced Kicks crossover, and narrow lights.
The car will receive a 1.3-liter petrol turbo engine with mild hybrid technology and an integrated starter-generator, which is powered by an electrical system. For such an installation, the Japanese provided several power options. Also, customers will be offered an all-wheel-drive crossover with e-POWER technology. In this case, the turbo engine will be used exclusively as a generator to recharge the batteries. Diesel units in the range of motors of the new crossover are not provided.
