Ford unveils electric van E-Transit

Ford has unveiled a commercial Transit van with an electric propulsion system. According to the press service of the American brand, the release of the new item under the name E-Transit will start in the spring of 2022.
Prices for the car have not been officially announced. Verge writes that they can start from 45 thousand dollars. The main competitors of the electric van will be the Peugeot E-Expert, Citroen e-Jumpy and Opel Vivaro-e.
The design of the "green" model does not differ much from the standard Ford Transit. The electric van will be offered to customers in several configurations with different body options. All modifications of the car are equipped with a 269 hp electric motor and 430 Nm of torque. The E-Transit has a range of 350 kilometers. It takes about 44 minutes to replenish the energy reserve from 15 to 80% using the special fast charging system.
The carrying capacity of the vehicle ranges from 1616 to 1967 kg, depending on the version. The driver has access to the SYNC 4 multimedia system with a 12-inch display. Also, the car is equipped with adaptive cruise control, an all-round camera, a blind spot monitoring system and a reversing assistance system.
In addition to the United States, the van will also be available in Europe. The production of new items will be adjusted at a plant in Kansas City.
The current Transit is equipped with a 2.2-liter turbodiesel developing 125 hp. and 350 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive. Also, the car can be purchased with a 136-strong unit of the same volume.
