Hyundai announced the most powerful Elantra ever
Hyundai will unveil a sports sedan with a 275-horsepower turbo engine next year.
Hyundai has released photographs of a camouflaged prototype of the new generation Elantra sports sedan developed by the South Korean brand's N division. This modification will be the most powerful and fastest version of the model in its 30-year history.
According to preliminary data, the Hyundai Elantra N will be equipped with a two-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine from the sports hatchbacks i30 N and Veloster N, on which it develops 275 hp. and 392 Nm of torque. The motor will work in conjunction with a six-speed manual transmission, or with an eight-speed robotic transmission with two clutches.
The N-modification will differ from the standard sedan with a suspension with sporty settings and reduced ground clearance, more efficient brakes, as well as an aerodynamic body kit. The sedan will premiere next year.
At the moment, the most powerful version of the new generation Elantra is the N Line sedan. This car is equipped with a 1.6-liter "turbocharger", developing 204 HP and 264 N·m of torque. The engine works together with a robotic gearbox or six-speed "mechanics".
