Google: a large number of negative reviews can harm the site's rating in search

During one of the video meetings with webmasters, a Google employee John Mueller said that negative reviews about the company do not affect the ranking of the site. Barry Schwartz from Search Engine Roundtable decided to clarify this question once again. In a new video meeting with John Mueller, he remembered the Decor My Eyes site, which had a lot of negative comments in 2010, and then Google downgraded the site in search. Barry Schwartz asked what has changed now.  



John Mueller noted that if a company has too many negative reviews, if people are massively dissatisfied with the site, then Google's algorithms can catch it. But these must be "very strong signals." Regular sites that have positive and negative reviews have nothing to worry about.
