New features that Android 12 will get
Android 11 is still in beta testing, but the Google development team has already started answering users' questions related to subsequent versions of the popular mobile OS. In particular, they have already told Reddit regulars about the new features that Android 12 can get.
According to representatives of the SoftMaker, the company has been working on the release of long screenshots that allow you to capture the entire page vertically, or take a picture of a large post in a social network for several years. The main problem that got in the way of implementing the new feature in Android 11 is that this format should be "understandable" to any installed applications.
In addition, Google is working on a more flexible concept of settings when creating backups. In particular, discussions are underway to increase the data limit for applications, which is currently limited to 25 megabytes, and to control backups when there are multiple devices running under the same account. It is expected that simultaneously with the transition to cloud backup storage, developers will "kill" the function of copying images to desktops via ADB.
"Backup to a laptop or desktop computer is not a usage scenario that we consider a priority. Investing in both cloud backups and migrating from one device to another will be beneficial for more users. In fact, we are going to opt-out of backup using ADB in the next Android releases," the company said.
Google will also continue to actively monitor any third-party apps that run on the device. In particular, in Android 12, programs running in the background will come under strict control. Finally, representatives of the company promised to improve gesture navigation, as well as provide "more freedom" for third-party launchers.
The described changes will be partially introduced in Android 11. The company will tell you more about all the features of Android 12 only closer to the release date, which will take place in 2021.
