OnePlus Suspends OnePlus 7 and 7T Upgrade to Android 11
Smartphone maker OnePlus has already presented the latest version of the Android 11 mobile operating system for OnePlus 8. By the end of the year, the transition to the current firmware should have been completed for owners of OnePlus 7 and 7T, but company representatives postponed the release and explained the reasons for the transfer.
On the official OnePlus forum, the company's technical specialists noted that when updating the OnePlus 7 and 7T to Android 11, there is a problem with decrypting the data stored on the device. The developers are forced to fix this problem, which will take time. As a result, Android 11 for these devices will be presented later, but OnePlus does not disclose the exact release date of the firmware.
In addition, OnePlus noted that it is actively working with Qualcomm's team of specialists to quickly resolve the issue. According to preliminary information, it may take about a week to solve it. If all goes according to plan, the OnePlus 7 and 7T will be able to upgrade to the Android 11 closed beta by the end of the month, according to the previously released roadmap.
