Motorola has revealed its alternative to Samsung DeX
A special feature of a number of Samsung smartphones is support for DeX mode - the function of connecting to an external display as a mini-PC. Motorola also hinted at the upcoming appearance of a similar option in its gadgets, which demonstrated the operation of one of them during the Qualcomm Tech Summit Digital 2020 conference.
Motorola representatives showed a smartphone connected to a Lenovo ThinkVision display. At the same time, there was no official announcement of the technology, as well as the exact model of the device was not disclosed. It is noteworthy that Motorola was one of the first to present such a solution even before the Samsung DeX appeared.
In February 2011, the company showed a Motorola ATRIX 4G smartphone running Android 2.3.6. The feature of the gadget was the ability to connect to a special docking station with an 11.5-inch display. Unfortunately, the presence of a number of hardware limitations in devices a decade ago did not allow the company to release the gadget to the market.
Motorola representatives have not yet officially commented on the brand's future plans to integrate the new feature into their devices.
