HUAWEI executive announces exact release date for HarmonyOS for smartphones
Next year, HUAWEI intends to release the first smartphone with a pre-installed proprietary operating system HarmonyOS. However, even earlier, the OS should be available to owners of current devices. According to new information, this will happen very soon.
The new information came from Mai Yumin, Vice President of the HUAWEI Software Division. According to him, the release of the beta version of HarmonyOS for smartphones is scheduled for December 16 this year. He also added that the owners of the new flagships of the HUAWEI Mate 40 series will be able to first try out the new OS.
Interestingly, after a very short time, a new message appeared from a HUAWEI representative, according to which the information about the release of the HarmonyOS beta in December is not official and the company is not yet ready to name specific dates.
It is unclear why this confusion occurred. It is possible that Mai Yumin revealed the company's plans ahead of schedule. However, it is not long to wait for the specified date. As reported, HUAWEI plans to transfer about 90% of all its current smartphones to HarmonyOS.
