The release date of HarmonyOS for smartphones has become known
Following the list of smartphones with support for the HarmonyOS 2.0 operating system, the date of the first build of HUAWEI's proprietary firmware for developers became known. According to network informants, testers will be able to try out an alternative to Google Android this year.
According to the publication of the insider Changan Digital King, the beta version of HarmonyOS 2.0 for developers (in China it will be presented under the name Hongmeng OS) will be held on December 18. Earlier, this information was indirectly confirmed by the head of software development at HUAWEI Consumer Business Group, Wang Chenglu. During the HDC conference, he said that the OS development is going according to the plan, according to which the release of the first test build for smartphones is scheduled for mid-December.
According to the source, users will also be able to test the preliminary version of HarmonyOS, but a little later — in January-February next year. A few months later, a stable version of the operating system will be released, which is expected to receive at least 90% of branded devices. According to rumors, the first such gadgets will be the flagship smartphones Mate 40 and tablet MatePad Pro.
