The creators of the world's first bendable gadget have announced a new smartphone
The world's first commercial bendable Android smartphone FlexPai was presented by the Chinese company Royole in the fall of 2018. A year and a half later, the manufacturer spoke about the new model of the branded device - and finally, officially announced the date of its announcement, publishing an official teaser dedicated to the upcoming presentation.
Although the vendor does not specify the name and form factor of the upcoming new product, the banner that appeared on the network schematically depicts the flexible device, which will presumably be presented under the name FlexPai 2. The event itself is scheduled for September 21 - it will be broadcast live on YouTube and on the official Royole website.
The smartphone is credited with the third generation Cicada Wing flexible OLED display with a diagonal of 7.8 inches with a refresh rate of 60 Hz. According to previous publications, the gadget weighing 340 grams will be powered by the Snapdragon 865 processor and will receive 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM. According to rumors, the novelty will be equipped with a 4050 mAh battery and a camera with four sensors (64 + 16 + 8 + 32 Mp).
After the global launch, FlexPai 2 is expected to be cheaper than the comparable Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2, but the exact price of the device has not yet been disclosed by the manufacturer.
