Samsung patented a transparent smartphone with an OLED display
Continuing to experiment with the form factor of smartphones, Samsung has patented a gadget design that uses a transparent display. Sony and LG have been developing such a device for several years, but so far no company has shown a finished prototype. The designers of the LetsGoDigital portal have published both patent images and concept renders of the device, created on their basis - according to the publication, the model will feature the absence of visible electronic components in the device case.
An OLED display is proposed as a basis for such a gadget. The patent states that the display can be either rigidly fixed in the case or bent. At the same time, while interacting with the interface, the user will be able to see literally through the smartphone screen.
It is noteworthy that the schematic drawings of Samsung differ from the concepts of other manufacturers - the device does not provide a wide area in which electronic components will be placed.
Unfortunately, the images provided demonstrate the possible concept of the device only on paper. Samsung has never mentioned even the estimated release date of a mobile gadget with a transparent display.
