OPPO introduced a 5G version of the A72 smartphone with new features
OPPO has released an updated version of the mid-budget smartphone A72. In contrast to the basic modification of the device with the same name, the new product changed the processor model, got an expanded amount of RAM, and received a number of other hardware changes, including the composition of the main camera module and battery capacity.
The new OPPO A72 5G is equipped with a 6.5-inch IPS display with a Full HD+ resolution and a 90 Hz refresh rate, which occupies 90.5% of the front panel area and has a cutout for the front camera with a sensor resolution of 8 MP (f/2.0). The rear module is represented by sensors at 16 (f/2.2), 8 (viewing angle 119°), and 2 MP (depth sensor, f/2.4).
The device is built on the basis of the eight-core processor MediaTek Dimensity 720 (2 x 2 GHz Cortex-A76 + 6 x 2 GHz Cortex-A55) with the Mali-G57 MC3 graphics accelerator. The gadget received 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM, a 128 GB UFS 2.1 drive, and runs Android 10 with the proprietary ColorOS 7.2 shell.
The battery with a capacity of 4040 mAh and 18 W fast charging support is responsible for the autonomy of the OPPO A72 5G. The device is secured by a side-mounted fingerprint scanner that can unlock it in 0.28 seconds. Other features of the new product include a 3.5 mm headphone jack and an FM radio module.
The OPPO A72 went on sale in China in black, purple, and neon cases for $270.
