Lenovo Legion side camera shown on video
The Lenovo Legion smartphone, which will be released this month, has one feature - a retractable side camera. This device is a gaming smartphone and it looks like that.
The pop-up camera in an unusual location makes it clear that it is not so much a smartphone that is designed for gaming, but a gaming device that can (potentially) be used as a smartphone.
Lenovo Legion has a 20-megapixel selfie camera. This camera pops out from the center of the sidebar, so gamers in landscape mode will surely only use it. In addition, this camera makes the smartphone ideal for taking selfies in landscape orientation. The smartphone itself can record and transmit video games.
If you are broadcasting a game on your smartphone and want to include your face in the broadcast, then you will have some difficulties with a regular smartphone. They have either a pop-up camera at the top that will get in the way of your hand or a front-facing camera that will probably also be covered by your fingers.
In Lenovo Legion, this problem does not exist, because the side panel during the game (usually in landscape mode) remains open and the camera in this place does not interfere with the gamer.
The Lenovo Legion smartphone has a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ chipset and Android (Android 10 or Android 11) and offers 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It also has 90W fast charging and 2 front speakers.
As for the rear cameras, the device comes with 64MP and 12MP sensors on the back and vibrant RGB lighting. The price of a smartphone will be about $670.
Lenovo Legion will be released in China on July 22, 2020.
