Insiders named the key features of the displays of all versions of the iPhone 13
Despite the predictions of most insiders, none of the models of the iPhone 12 series of smartphones presented this year received a screen with a refresh rate higher than 60 Hz. A new report from the South Korean publication The Elec details the matrices of the next generation of Apple devices - and it looks like a pleasant surprise awaits users in 2021.
According to journalists, citing industry sources, next year Samsung Display will supply most of the OLED panels for the iPhone 13 (up to 130 million units). At least 30 and 10 million more modules, respectively, will fall on LG and BOE, provided that they pass Apple's quality test.
At the same time, some of Samsung's displays made using LTPO technology will support a variable refresh rate and Always On Display. Compared to low-temperature polycrystalline silicon (LTPS) technology, which is now used in most smartphones, LTPO can also reduce the power consumption of OLED displays by 20%.
It is expected that the screen refresh rate of 120 Hz and the AoD function will receive only the senior representatives of the series - the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max with a diagonal of 6.67" and 6.06", respectively. The basic version is expected to receive a 5.42-inch screen, while the new iPhone SE is credited with a 6.06-inch IPS-matrix.
Earlier, authoritative analyst Min-Chi Kuo said that next year Apple's traditional presentation will do without transfers and will take place in September. The price of future novelties of the company is still unknown.
