Redmi Note 9 5G - 5000 mAh battery and stereo speakers for $198
Together with the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G, the presentation of the more affordable Redmi Note 9 5G took place. It is slightly different in appearance, has simpler characteristics, but it is equipped with a larger capacity battery, and supports fifth-generation networks.
Redmi Note 9 5G is equipped with a 6.53-inch IPS-screen with Full HD+ resolution and a classic 60 Hz refresh rate. There is a small hole in the corner for the front camera, which, together with narrow frames, ensures a high ratio of the display area to the body.
As a hardware platform, the manufacturer chose the eight-core MediaTek Dimensity 800U processor with 5G support. As in the Pro version, the amount of RAM reaches 8 GB, and the built-in storage is 256 GB. The main advantage of the Redmi Note 9 5G over the more expensive model is the more capacious 5000 mAh battery. However, it supports fast charging with a power of 18 watts.
The camera in Redmi Note 9 5G is also simpler than in the Pro version. The main module has a resolution of 48 megapixels. In addition to it, there is a 6-megapixel width and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Different shooting modes are supported, including night mode.
The smartphone received stereo speakers, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, an infrared port for controlling household appliances, and a fingerprint scanner in the power button, but there is no NFC module.
Redmi Note 9 5G will be available in three variants at the following prices: 6 + 128 GB - $198, 8 + 128 GB - $228, 8 + 256 GB - $258.
They also introduced the Redmi Note 9 4G, which is essentially a renamed version of the recently released POCO M3. It has the same characteristics, but the design of the camera block has changed slightly. This model will be available in four versions at once: 4 + 128 GB for $152, 6 + 128 GB for $167, 8 + 128 GB for $198 and 8 + 256 GB for $228.
