realme has become the fastest growing smartphone brand
Realme has become the fastest-growing smartphone brand in the third quarter of 2020, according to research firm Counterpoint Research's report on smartphone shipments. In addition, the company recorded a record high level of quarterly shipments.
According to Counterpoint Research, in the third quarter of 2020, realme smartphone shipments were 14.8 million units and total sales reached 50 million units. With 132% growth, realme surpassed analyst expectations to become the fastest growing brand in the world.
Counterpoint analysts said realme's supply growth rate represents "the strongest growth momentum among the world's major equipment manufacturers." The company has been able to achieve these results by focusing on a young audience that makes up the majority of the brand's customer base.
"Through efforts to provide consumers with affordable yet premium products, as well as the ability to provide comfortable online shopping and after-sales services in different countries, realme has become the most resilient brand during and after the pandemic crisis," said the research analyst Abhilash Kumar.
At the moment realme is present in 61 markets around the world and has entered the top five brands in 13 of them in two years. The company is now ranked seventh globally and is the only brand with double-digit growth in the second quarter of 2020.
