Acer Spin 7: new Snapdragon processor and 24 hours battery life
The first laptop powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 5G processor was announced at the IFA 2020 Consumer Electronics Show. It turned out to be the updated Acer Spin 7, among the main features of which is a rotating screen, support for fifth-generation networks, lightweight, and impressive battery life.
The new Acer Spin 7 is based on the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 5G mobile platform with a TDP value of 7 watts. According to Qualcomm, this chipset is more powerful than Intel Core i5 of the tenth generation with a TDP of 15 W and at the same time more efficiently consumes energy. An important feature of this chip is support for 5G (both mmWave and sub-6), so the user will always stay connected.
The laptop is equipped with a rotating (360 degrees) 14-inch IPS display with Full HD resolution, covered with tempered Gorilla Glass with a special antimicrobial coating based on silver ions. The case contains a complete Wacom AES 1.0 stylus that supports 4096 touch levels. Two USB Type-C, USB Type-A, and 3.5 mm headphone ports are available.
The laptop weighs about 1.38 kilograms, and the claimed battery life reaches 24 hours, which makes it easy to carry it with you and use it for several hours without recharging.
Other specifications, pricing, and timing of the Acer Spin 7 will be announced later.
