Smartphone-sized Raspberry Pi Zero mini-computer announced

The NODE startup, which released the Zero Terminal Mini in 2017, introduced a new version of the pocket PC built on the basis of the popular Raspberry Pi Zero platform. Compared with its predecessor, the new product, aimed at enthusiasts, has significantly increased the size and resolution of the display, while its dimensions are still comparable to a smartphone.

For the performance of the gadget running Linux, the tandem of the Broadcom BCM2835 processor with a clock speed of 1 GHz and 512 MB of RAM is responsible. Zero Terminal Mini 3 is equipped with a touch-sensitive 5.5-inch AMOLED display manufactured by Waveshare with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. The device looks like a regular smartphone but has a large thickness due to the form factor of the slider with a pull-out keyboard.

The list of pocket computer interfaces includes USB 2.0 Type-A, micro-USB, and mini-HDMI ports, as well as a microSD memory card slot and a 3.5 mm audio jack. Three programmable buttons and a speaker are located on the device body. The built-in battery capacity of the model is 1200 mAh. You can connect additional peripherals to the new product: a keyboard, a gaming controller, and other accessories.
