Results of the first synthetic and gaming tests of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 leaked to the network
Portal Videocards.com managed to get access to testing data for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 video card. The official embargo on the publication of device reviews will take place on Monday, but reporters showed some of the data right now. As expected, the level of performance gains is very solid.
The reporters showed synthetic tests, as well as the performance of the video card in two different games. Based on figures from 3DM Fire Strike, 3D Mart Time Spy, and Port Royal, the GeForce RTX 3080 performs 24% better on average than the RTX 2080 Ti. With GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER, the gap was 37%, and with RTX 2060 SUPER — 50%. As for testing the video card in games, you can see the results in the images below.
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 video card in MaxQ shows a significant gap from the RTX 2080 Ti, RTX 2080 SUPER, RTX 2070 SUPER, and RTX 2060 SUPER in Shadow of the Tomb Raider. But with the next game, Far Cry New Dawn, everything is not so clear: to show a significant increase in performance over the previous generation GeForce RTX 3080 could only in ultra-high resolutions. At the same time, the difference in 1080p is generally minimal.
It is worth noting that the video cards were tested in conjunction with the Intel Core i9-10900K processor without any overclocking. More detailed data on testing the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 will be presented on Monday, September 14.
