As you know, Apple's new iPhone 12 and iPad Pro (2020) expected this fall will receive A14 Bionic and A14X Bionic processors, respectively. These are the first mass-produced 5-nm models that promise high performance - and according to a new insider report, the older version of the mobile chip will even compete with Intel Core i9 in this regard.

Geekbench 5 reports

Tech blogger Luke Miani posted on his Twitter blog the alleged results of synthetic performance testing of upcoming Apple new products in Geekbench 5. He claims that the base processor A14 Bionic will equal the number of "parrots" with A12X Bionic, and the more productive A14X will break out ahead by a large margin, demonstrating a result of 7480 points.

If the leak is true, Apple's new flagship chip will equal the Intel Core i9-9880H in nominal processing power. The blogger also claims that Apple processors for laptops based on the ARM architecture, announced as part of the Apple Silicon line, will receive even higher frequencies and a related increase in performance compared to the line of branded tablets.

The exact date of the announcement of the updated series of Apple ARM processors by the company has not yet been announced.
