Qualcomm Quick Charge 5 allows you to charge your smartphone in less than 15 minutes
Qualcomm has introduced the fifth generation of its proprietary Quick Charge technology. According to the company, this is the fastest commercial charging for Android devices. It provides 10 times faster power delivery compared to Quick Charge 1 and is 70% more efficient than Quick Charge 4.
One of the main innovations of Quick Charge 5 is the support of dual batteries and voltage up to 20 V. As a result, the standard allows you to charge mobile devices equipped with compatible Snapdragon processors, network adapters with a power of more than 100 watts.
Quick Charge 5 can charge your smartphone from 0% to 50% in just 5 minutes, and it takes less than 15 minutes to recharge 100%. At the same time, Qualcomm assures that the heating in comparison with Quick Charge 4 has been reduced by 10 degrees Celsius, and proprietary Smart Identification of Adapter Capabilities technologies maximize energy transfer efficiency, increase safety and allow you to extend the life of batteries. Quick Charge 5 includes 12 levels of protection, including protection against overheating and over-voltage.
It is important to note that chargers with Quick Charge 5 support are backward compatible with Quick Charge 2.0, 3.0, 4, 4+ standards, which means they can be used with the vast majority of devices based on Snapdragon processors.
The first smartphones with Quick Charge 5 will appear in the third quarter of this year. The standard is already supported by the Snapdragon 865/865 + processor.
