Samsung has developed a unique technology for unlocking smartphones
The fingerprint scanners built into the display provide a high level of protection for smartphones, but even they can be deceived using various hacking methods. The new development of Samsung, which was highlighted in the US Patent Office, is designed to strengthen the "line of defense" of gadgets, significantly increasing the reliability of the biometric sensor.
Samsung's published patent application demonstrates a new technology for unlocking mobile devices using biometrics. According to the document, three prints will be read at once, and not one, as with most modern devices. It is expected that this will significantly increase the gadget's resistance to hacking using generated skin patterns.
The sensor placement area on the screen will be highlighted whenever the user decides to unlock the smartphone. Alternatively, the technology will allow the device owner to gain access by playing a pre-registered individual stroke or a simple drawing in the reading area.
The date of the first commercial devices with support for the new technology is not reported.
