Integrated Apple M1 graphics beat NVIDIA and AMD desktop graphics
The M1 mobile ARM processor introduced by Apple last week impressed even the company's management with its performance indicators. A little later, the results of testing the integrated graphics of the new chip appeared on the network, which was compared with discrete solutions from leading video card manufacturers.
According to the published data, the Apple M1 video chip was tested in the graphics benchmark together with the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti and Radeon RX 560. Both of these models provide the same bandwidth as the M1 - about 2.6 teraflops from AMD and 2.9 from NVIDIA.
The new product is manufactured using a 5-nm process technology and includes four high-performance Firestorm cores and four energy-efficient Icestorm. The new chip also includes an eight-core GPU with 128 execution units (EU).
According to the test results in GFXBench 5.0, the Apple M1 platform has bypassed its competitors by a large margin. Even taking into account the fact that both models are already outdated, for the integrated video core, such indicators, according to analysts, can be considered impressive.
