Features of the flagship AMD Ryzen 9 5900X revealed by insiders
Next week, the presentation of the new AMD Ryzen 5000-series desktop processors is expected. They will be built on the Zen 3 architecture using an improved 7-nanometer process technology. Shortly before the presentation, the characteristics of the flagship model appeared on the web.
According to the Chinese publication CN Beta, the new Ryzen 9 5900X processor will get 12 cores and 24 threads. It is reported that in Boost mode, its clock speed will be 5 GHz, which is 400 MHz more than its direct predecessor Ryzen 9 3900X. Insiders also claim that the number of operations performed per clock cycle in the new processor will grow by about 20%. However, to achieve greater performance, the TDP value will increase to 150 W — 45 W more than in the Ryzen 9 3900X.
The presentation of new AMD processors on the Zen 3 architecture is scheduled for October 8.
