ASUS ROG introduced the Delta S gaming headset
ASUS Republic of Gamers brand introduced the flagship gaming headset ROG Delta S. The new product features support for the MQA format and the use of a quad DAC with the EES 9281 codec, as well as intelligent noise reduction technology when recording sound from the built-in microphone.
The ROG Delta S headset connects to an audio source via the USB-C interface, and the included USB Type-C to USB 2.0 adapter ensures compatibility with a wide range of game consoles and other devices. To process audio without loss of quality, the headset uses the ESS 9281 codec, which includes four digital-to-analog converters. At the same time, each of the converters allocates its resources for a certain part of the frequency range: low, medium, high, and ultra-high frequencies.
Combining the four signals produces an audio output signal with a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 130 dB - much higher than any gaming headset on the market. Notably, the ROG Delta S is the first device created as a result of a collaboration between ASUS and Master Quality Authenticated (MQA). This partnership allowed for the first time to equip a gaming headset with support for MQA technology for playing music in studio quality.
MQA technology allows you to transmit sound exactly as it was recorded in the studio, without losing quality and detail. The built-in MQA rendering module in the ROG Delta S headset reads the core of digital audio data from streaming music services such as TIDAL, so that users get an extremely realistic and high-quality sound as a result.
The new headset also received support for intelligent noise reduction technology, previously implemented in the ROG Theta 7.1, ROG Strix Go, and ROG Strix Go 2.4 models. A dedicated processor uses a machine-learning algorithm with over fifty million audio recordings of various noises, which only highlights the user's voice, and 95% of extraneous sounds, such as conversations in the background, key banging, and mouse clicks, are simply eliminated.
The removable unidirectional microphone of the Rog Delta S headset is certified by leading developers of voice communication services Discord and TeamSpeak. the status of the microphone is clearly displayed on the led indicator: when the microphone is turned off, the indicator at the end of its rod flickers red. intelligent noise reduction technology is designed specifically for users who communicate in voice chat while in a noisy room or even on the street.
