The head of OnePlus announced an affordable version of the smart TV
In the fall of 2019, OnePlus debuted a new segment for itself, introducing smart TVs Q1 and Q1 Pro with a starting price of $985. Adhering to the company's recently announced policy to occupy a niche of medium-budget devices, the vendor announced the release of a more affordable version of its last year's Smart TV.
In his Twitter blog, the head of the brand, Pete Lau, told users that soon OnePlus will introduce a premium smart TV at an affordable price. The publication of the company's founder states that the new product will appear on the Indian market and its launch will take place on July 2, 2020.
The specifications and name of the new smart TV are not yet known, but it is assumed that the device will receive the Z prefix by joining the Bullets Wireless Z headphones and the upcoming OnePlus Z smartphone. In addition, it is expected that the “lite” version of the branded TV will receive a smaller screen diagonal, and there will be presented in two configurations with matrices of 43 and 32 inches.
Due to what else the cost of the device will be reduced, it is not reported. The TV may lose 4K resolution and an array of speakers with a total power of 50 watts with support for Dolby Atmos surround sound technology. Detailed specifications and retail prices of new products are not disclosed by the manufacturer.
