Canon has launched two new mirrorless cameras: the Canon EOS R5 and the Canon EOS R6.

The EOS R5 becomes the most powerful camera on the market that offers advanced features.

Canon EOS R5

The Canon EOS R5 will go on sale at $3899 (without a lens), making it the second most expensive camera after the 1DX Mark III DSLR. But what makes this camera so special?

The Canon EOS R5 comes with a 45-megapixel sensor and offers its own ISO range of 100-51, 200. However, the most striking feature of this camera is that it is capable of recording uncompressed 8K RAW at 29.97 frames per second in 10-bit 4: 2: 2 color.

In addition, the camera can record 4K DCI video at 59.94 frames per second. According to Canon, the EOS R5 is capable of shooting 8K continuously for about 20 minutes at room temperature, which is certainly an impressive achievement.

As for photography, the camera will be able to shoot up to 12 frames per second using a mechanical shutter and up to 20 frames per second using an electronic shutter. The camera has internal image stabilization and up to 8 stops of correction when using lenses with OIS support.

EOS R5 can track the eyes of dogs, cats, birds, and people. The electronic viewfinder on the camera offers a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a 3.2-inch touch screen with a resolution of 2.1 million pixels.

Canon also introduced the more affordable EOS R6. It uses basic design features from the EOS R5 but offers a weaker 20.1-megapixel sensor from the 1D X Mark III.

You can record 4K video at a speed of 60 frames per second and 1080p at a speed of 120 frames per second on the camera. The viewfinder offers 3.69 million points, and the touch screen - 3 inches with 1.62 million points. EOS R6 will cost much cheaper than EOS R5 - $2499.
