Insiders revealed the design of Google’s set-top box and the new version of Android TV
Following the first rumors about the release of Google’s Android set-top box, detailed renderings of the future news appeared on the network, revealing the features of its design and configuration. In addition, network informants published a series of slides demonstrating the updated interface of the proprietary OS for smart TVs and also reported its new name.
According to the leak, the device, codenamed Sabrina, will partly resemble the Chromecast Ultra dongle introduced earlier, but unlike its predecessor, it will receive its own operating system and remote control with a built-in microphone and support for Google Assistant voice assistant functions.
Published renderings show the device in black, white, and pink cases. Although the image features the Google logo, the new console is rumored to debut under the Nest brand - presumably, the network got promo materials of an early version of the gadget.
Network sources also report on the upcoming renaming of the Android TV operating system to Google TV and updating its interface, which will be focused on content like individual movies and TV shows, rather than on applications.
The estimated price of the new product is about $80, the date of the announcement by the manufacturer has not yet been announced.
